An employee of Apple was found dead inside the company’s conference room at the Cupertino headquarters Wednesday morning.
The man was found by the Santa Clara County deputies at 8:35 a.m. they declared him dead on site, as per what Sergeant Andrea Urena said at a press conference in the afternoon.
“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of a young and talented coworker,” Apple spokeswoman Kristin Huguet said in a statement without providing further details on the man’s identity.
The police have not revealed how the employee died and are neither they searching for suspects. They are however interviewing people concerning the matter.
Urena said that the deputies found out that no other person was involved. He said that “They believe it was an isolated incident and that there was nobody else on the campus or in the public that are at risk.”
There will be an investigation on the matter so as to determine the cause of the death. Apple building is still open for business.
“Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends, including the many people he worked with here at Apple,” Huguet said. “We are working to support them however we can in this difficult time.”
The incident has happened just a day after Apple announced a disappointing performance of its iPhone sales.
