MUMBAI: Sabse Technologies, a Global wiFi-first carrier officially confirmed that the Chairman of Tata trusts and Chairman emeritus of Tata sons, Mr Ratan Tata has made a strategic investment in Sabse Technologies.
Ratan Tata’s interest to invest in the Telecommunications firm ‘Sabse Technologies’ seems to be a strategic involvement through his Telecom firm ‘Tata tele services’ and its subsidiaries such as the Tata Docomo.
So, what are the services offered by Sabse Technologies?. Well, Sabse Technology is a global WiFi-first carrier, which means it connects to the wiFi hotspots at the first place and reduces the mobile bills. When a Sabse network is not available it automatically connects to a best available cellular network.
To elaborate, Sabse arranges a wiFi-network through which its users can connect and use the internet services at attractive rates, lower than the regular cellular network plans. It also gives an additional facility i.e., subscribers on Sabse network can make phone calls free of cost. “Even if the other person is not connected to the Sabse network, we can make phone calls at reasonable rates”, the company said on its website.
The main advantages of this technology is that it has the potential to throw a competition among the Telecom operators which in turn may force the operators to reduce the data charges to compete with Sabse. Also, a user can eliminate roaming charges by using Sabse network.
Sabse Technologies, also operates a popular communications platform called ‘Sabsebolo’ which provides cloud based communication services to small and medium-sized enterprises.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sabse Technologies and also the co-founder of Hotmail, Sabeer Bhatia said that they are delighted by Ratan Tata’s interest to invest in their firm and were looking forward to work under the guidance of Ratan Tata to become a leading telecom carrier, the Economic Times reported.
Yogesh Patel, the president of Sabse said, “The experience of Ratan Tata in framing Tata Telecommunications into a leading global company will benefit us as we look to work under his guidance to take Sabse to the next level”.
