Google in its latest innovative step, has brought up Prepaid vouchers which can be used to redeem Apps and other utilities in the Google’s play store. The step has been taken by the Google to reach its users to a larger extent.
According to a report from “The Hindu”, India has a credit card market share 0f just 1.75%, accounting for 21 million users. Google offers its paid services in the Google play store through Credit card payments only. Hence, Google recognized it is difficult for them to penetrate through the Indian users and make income, if they offered only Credit card payments.
In view of this point, Google has come up with its new innovative idea of offering Google Play store services through prepaid vouchers. These prepaid vouchers can be purchased by cash, from the outlets in selected cities of India. In turn, the vouchers can be used to redeem digital services in the Google Play store.
The Vouchers are available in the denominations of Rs.500, Rs.1000 and Rs.1500. In the trial period, the vouchers are made available in the cities of Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Jaipur, The Huffingtonpost reports.
