NEW DELHI: Adding another feather to its hat, iconic cult bike maker Harley-Davidson India has on Friday launched its new Sportster 1200 custom model, priced at Rs 8.9 lakh. The new model is powered by an air-cooled, 1200 cc engine to give riders a fulfillment of personal freedom.
“Sportster 1200 custom will be assembled at the company’s Bawal plant and the bookings for the same will be opened soon”, Vikram Pawah, managing director of Harley-Davidson India said. “This time we are concentrating more on expanding our business reach, to make sure that every individual’s personal dream is fulfilled. Our Indian branch has a strategic plan to make this a reality in the near future”, he added.
With the introduction of Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 custom model, the number of motorcycles assembled from CKD (Complete Knockdown) units will reach 8, out of a total of 13 models sold in India.
Having started its operations in August 2009, Harley-Davidson offers 13 models in India besides a wide-range of genuine parts, accessories, and general merchandise through its authorized dealers. The Gurgoan-based firm has more than 20 independent dealerships across India including New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chandigarh among others.
