Forbes magazine, in its recent survey, has compiled the list of “50 richest self made women of US”. The list contained two Indian Origin women viz., London born Jayshree Ullal and India born Neerja sethi.
Neerja was ranked 14th in the list, whereas Jayshree was ranked the 30th. The two women shared a place in the list, with other high potential women such as Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and Singer Beyonce.
India born Neerja, comes into the 14th spot with a net worth of $1.1 billion, whereas London born Jayshree comes into the list of the 50 self made richest women in the US with $470 million net worth.
Forbes said, that Ms. Sethi,60, co-founded the IT company Syntal with her billionaire husband Bharat desai in 1980. She worked as the company’s treasurer since 1980 for sixteen years and is currently the vice-president of the corporate affairs of the company “Syntal”. Through their family charitable foundation, the couple had donated $1 Million to the Michigan university to arrange for a start up accelerator, The Hindu reports.
Ms. Ullal, the Forbes reported is one of the America’s most richest executives. Her company Arista Networks emerged as one of the silicon valleys best and more preferred firms.” She has slated a team of innovative engineers into a high performing company” Forbes said.
Born in London and raised up in Delhi, India, Ms. Ullal has donated her share of income to a family foundation which was named in honour of her no more sister, who died due to lung cancer.
The first ever list of the nation’s top 50 most successful, self-made women as measured by their net worth includes entrepreneurs, CEOs, entertainers, designers and an author.
