NEW DELHI: According to a new survey conducted by Wealth-X in collaboration with the Business Insider, three Indians viz., Mukesh Ambani, Azim Premji and Dilip Shanghvi have featured in the global list of top 50 wealthiest people headed by Bill Gates.
As per the report released by the Wealth-X, Mukesh Ambani has been ranked at 27th with an estimated net worth of $24.8 billion. On the other hand, Azim Premji and Dilip Shanghvi were ranked 43rd and 44th with an estimated total assets worth $16.5 billion and $16.4 billion respectively.
The report pointed that the total property value of the 50 Wealthiest people is nearly equal to the GDP of Australia, which stands at $1.45 trillion.
As usual the list was topped by Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, with a net worth of $87.4 billion. He was followed by businessman Amancio Ortega Gaona from Spain with the value of his total assets standing at $66.8 billion. Warren Buffett occupies the third place with $60.7 billion.
Amazon founder and CEO Jeffrey Bezos has made a good fortune as he takes the fourth spot with $56.6 billion, followed by US business man Davis Koch with $47.4 billion.
The top 50 list contained only four female billionaires. Interestingly, 93-year-old L’Oreal heiress Liliane Bettencourt has become the World’s oldest and richest female billionaire with an individual rank of 17th (net worth $29 billion).
