BENGALURU: Online Cab aggregator Ola had on Friday, launched an innovative service called ‘Ola Share’ which allows customers to share their ride with other Ola customers heading in the same direction. Ola said that the new initiative will increase the Taxi drivers earnings by 60% apart from decreasing customers individual fares by 50%.
The new service named as ‘Ola Share’ has been launched in Bengaluru on Friday and is expected to cover other regions on a pilot basis. To add additional features to this service, Ola is now offering to match customers with people from their own defined social circles.
“Ola share works best when users start sharing their rides within their social groups. This will ensure the customers an added security feature”, said Anand Subramanian, Senior Director of Marketing Communications at Ola .
