BENGALURU: According to the reports, Taxi app Ola has hired Infosys outgoing Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Rajiv Bansal as its new financial head. Bansal, who announced his exit from the Infosys earlier this week, will join the Ola group from 1st of January next year.
The Times of India reported that a person directly acquainted with the matter has revealed the acceptance of proposal letter by Mr Bansal. It said citing an unknown person as saying that the Ola team is aiming to improve its core strength by hiring the top talents in the country.
Bansal, 42, when asked about his future plans after his exit from the Infosys, said “Our paths will cross again. Whether it will be at a private equity fund, a large business house or a startup, I can’t say at the moment. But I am looking forward to working in a value creation space.”
Bansal was one of the highest paid executives when he was at the Infosys, next only to the Chief operating officer. For the year ending March 2015, Bansal took home a salary package of $770,858. The salary details at Ola, is yet to be known.
Mitesh Shah, is the current Chief financial officer at Ola. The Taxi app competes with the foreign firm Uber which has a wide user base.
Ola, founded by IIT-Bombay alumni Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati, is valued at an estimated $5 billion (Rs 32,500 crore), and counts SoftBank, Sequoia Capital, DST Global and Tiger Global among investors, the Economic Times reported.
