A women working as a Papa John’s driver was able to keep her job after carrying a gun even though the company’s policy clearly states otherwise.
Though under misconception, the job can be a bit on the dangerous side. These workers can be an easy target. There have been a few events in the news that Papa John’s delivery persons have been mugged by the same people that place the call for the delivery.
A woman in Georgia was mugged while delivering a pizza. It seems that the mugger took her out of her car by force and held her at gunpoint, but what attacker did not know that the driver was packing heat herself. She shot the attacker in the face. Another person assisting the mugger took the car and to this day has not been caught.
The people in Georgia are protected by the gun laws because they have the right to defend themselves from an attack.
The Papa John’s company said that the events that took place, was a tragic one and they are keen on the safety of their employees. Even though the policy of the company says that it does not allow for employees to use any fire arm while on duty, but still allowed the employee to keep her job.
After the investigation, the company took in consideration all of the facts and gave the employee counseling to cope with the incident that took place. The identity of the worker was not disclosed.
There were no comments giving by the police.
There have been many occurrences of multiple incidences that have taken place in the work place that is Papa John’s.
A Little Insight on Gunshot Violence
Gun violence victims are causing a huge uproar in the economy. People who have been affected by gun violence are making the taxpayers a little uneasy since they are the one’s payer for their injuries. In 2010, about 670 million dollars in gun violence was recorded. Most of this has to be paid by the public. In many states there is higher cost for the people.
Gunshot victim men tend to be more abundant then women. Black men tend to be more prone to these tragic circumstances. The youth are very susceptibleto the the dangers of the gun. Most people that live in poorer neighborhoods are more prone to crime and gun violence because that is where most crime occurs.
Gun violence strategies should be taken in effect with the proper resources.
Many people say that it is not surprising that crime occurs in those more poor areas because people are more vulnerable being poor. Since people who live in poor neighborhoods tend not to be able to afford insurance they do not have insurance.
