Vijayawada: Bandaru Dattatreya, Union Minister for Labor, said that a sum of Rs. 27,000 crore is lying unclaimed as the Employment Provident Fund. The Minister also assured that he would be utilizing the amount for the welfare of the workers.
Speaking at the opening of an hospital in Vijayawada, Mr. Dattatreya said that his ministry would be working hard for the welfare of the poor workers in the country. The employment provident fund will be completely utilized for them, the Minister said. He added that the Ministry is presently contemplating schemes for the utilization of the same and would soon roll out the schemes helpful to the poor workers.
He also said that the government is keen to amend the age old labor laws and ensure the protection and safety of the working people. He added that, BJP led government is also working on carving the new labor laws keeping in mind the priorities of the people, The Times of India reports.
The Minister said that the Government would soon start the skill development program and train two lakh individuals to gain skillful knowledge.
