The tenth iteration in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series from NetherRealm Studios, Mortal Kombat X, was released back in April. Not long after that, the first Kombat Pack DLC was released. By May, a teaser image for the second DLC was released. However, since then, there has been no news in relation to the Kombat Pack 2 DLC, until now.
Mortal Kombat X gamers may hear good news in the not-so-distant-future as game director Ed Boon recently revealed via his Twitter that new DLC content is coming. A fan had asked Boon if it is possible to get more costumes for D’vorah and Takeda, and Boon replied that they are coming.
Although Boon did not elaborate on the specifics, it is being presumed that the new costumes will be part of the forthcoming DLC. The revelation is surprising given that D’vorah and Takeda are quite new characters, according to Design and Trend. There is also a possibility that classic Mortal Kombat characters will be getting more costumes.
Specifics regarding the upcoming Kombat Pack 2 are still lacking. NetherRealm has yet to reveal a release date. Based on previous on revelations, the second DLC will come with four new characters, fresh skins and a new stage.
The rumoured and popular roster additions include Sindel, Spawn, Smoke, Baraka, Fujin, Bo’Rai Cho, Alien Xenomorph and Noob Saibot.
After Todd McFarlane announced that he had given Warner Bros. permission to use his character, rumours of Spawn’s inclusion spread. However, Smoke is another fan favourite and his fans are hoping for his inclusion.
It is rumoured that the Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pack 2 DLC will be released in the first quarter of 2016, based on pervasive speculations.
Mortal Kombat X is currently available for Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game is also available on mobile devices with Apple iOS and Android iOS.
