A Heat wave which has been shifted from the Rajasthan towards the Eastern and Southern parts of India due to cyclone winds, had increased the temperature intensely in Telangana and India.
According to the available latest information, the Heat wave has killed 21 and 23 people in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh respectively. The regions of these two states have recorded higher than normal temperature in the last few days, due to the Heat waves. Parts of the districts of Nalgonda, Nizamabad and Karimnagar are among the worst hit, said Hyderabad Meteorological Department Director YK Reddy, adding that mercury is likely to soar even more until Sunday.
The Telangana government has cautioned public over the Heat and also campaigned over the Do’s and Dont’s to prevent the loss of lives.
Khammam district of Telangana has recorded 47 degree Celsius of temperature today making it the hottest place. The people of Khammam district in rural areas were made to suffocate with Heat due to power cuts, The Tribune reports.
Quoting District Collector H Arunkumar, a report from Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh, where mercury level ranged from 42 to 46 degrees Celsius, said eight people have died due in East Godavari district in the last three days alone. Temperatures in the district range from 42 to 45 degrees Celsius.
The Heat wave is said to prevail for another week till the monsoon winds arrive.
