Gahati: within a period of a week, some young women, two in number from the region stamped their names in history. Being excellent in their fields respectively, now, they will embark on an international journey with the mission of bringing glory to both the region and the country.
Previously, in the last week, Priyadarshini Chatterjee , a young lady from Assam was declared as the first lady from the Northeast winning fbb Feminna Miss India 2016. A head of her lays a big task, she is now getting ready to take part in the Miss World Crown competition.
Tripura’s Dipa Karmakar, another young lady of the middle age, on Monday, she was declared as the first Indian woman gymnast to book an Olympic berth. Her hope now is to clinch a medal at the Rio Olympics for the year 2016.
On Tuesday of the same week, Dipa received a congratulation message from Priyadarshini who expressed her desire of meeting the gymnast.
“I would love to meet Dipa. She has brought laurels to the northeast. I offer her my deepest congratulations and best wishes. What she has achieved is amazing,” exclaimed Priyadarshini said on Tuesday.
Both Priyadarshini and Dipa said that they are ready to face the tougher competitions and challenges ahead of them. Dipa, the gymnast will be competing against the best gymnast worldwide in the month of July while Priyadarshini will have to do her best at miss world event that is scheduled to take place later in this year.
“I will be preparing for the Miss World contest and I am completely focused on that.
