Some of its cons is that it caused an emergence of working classes thus bringing about social inequities. Grim employment was also conspicuous.
Industrial Revolution birthplace
Before the emergence of Industrial Revolution, most people lived in rural communities where means of livelihood was farming. The average person had a difficult life and income was also meager. Diseases and malnourishment was so common. A bulk of the food, furniture, clothing and tools that people produce was meant for consumption. Manufacturing was done majorly in rural shops or homes by use of simple machines.
The demand for British went up making the merchants require less cost-effective methods that they could use for production. Mechanization and factory system thus emerged.
Industrialization grows past Britain
The British enacted legislation that was meant to stop any of their technology being exported. Their skilled workers were also prohibited from leaving the country. The country was however, not successful in implementing the legislation.
Industrialization quickly spread to the other European countries such as France, Belgium and Germany. It later on moved to the United States.
In mid-19th century, industrialization became strongly rooted in Western Europe as well as northeastern America.
By 20th century, the US became the most advanced nation in terms of technology and industrialization in the world, going past Britain.
