A 35-year-old Indian man murdered fourteen members of his own family, his parents and seven children included, after which he killed himself.
Police reports indicate that Hasnin added sedatives to the family’s food and then proceeded to slit their throats.
Neighbors from the home that is located in Thane, near Mumbai, got aware of the attack after hearing screams from the man’s sister who survived the attack.
Police are yet to know the driving reason behind the actions taken by Hasnin.
The authorities will question the man’s sister so as to get more insights into the matter. Currently she is still in deep trauma and has been admitted in a city hospital.
The basic information available right now is that the man used a big knife to kill his sisters, his sister’s children and also the parents.
The oldest victim of the attack is his 55-year-old father while the youngest is his 3-month-old daughter.
The attack started in the early Sunday morning hours when each person was still in bed.
Television footage has indicated bodies being carried out of the home while they are covered in sheets.
The family killed had come together for dinner on Saturday evening.
Bolted the doors
Dumbre Asshutosh, Thane police commissioner, said that the accused bolted the doors of the house and then killed the family while they were all asleep. He used a knife which was found next to his body.
Some reports from local media say that the family was drugged but the police are yet to confirm this.
It is believed that Hasnin was an accountant in Mumbai.
The bodies were found on Sunday morning in the home of the man.
