MIAMI: As per the monthly climate report released by the US scientists on Thursday, 2015 may become the warmest year that the modern era has ever witnessed. Scientists based their assumption on the fact that the global temperatures have been on a record-high for seven months in a row. In the latest instance, last November marked the hottest month in 136 years!
As per the monthly climate report released by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the United States, temperatures recorded across global land and ocean surfaces in the month of November had shown a 1.75 degrees fahrenheit (0.97 degrees celsius) increase, when compared to the global average of the 20th Century.
Scientists stated that 2015 can easily be declared as the warmest year ever, with the last seven months recording high temperatures globally.
Jake Crouch, climate scientist at NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information said, “This was the highest temperature recorded in the month of November, during the period of 1880-2015. Most of the global regions are covered with record warmth. people will have to face a horrible summer this year”.
“This year is without doubt the warmest year ever. The serious effects of global warming had just started showing off. I hope that the climate pact signed at Paris may help lower global temperatures, at least on a slower note”, he added.
As per the UN’s report, more than 60% of this year’s global agriculture has not been fruitful owing to the inadequate rainfalls.
