Over 50 people have been struck and killed by Bangladesh Lighting in the two days that have past, the police say.
Most of those who were killed were farmers who were in their paddy fields.
Bangladesh is a common ground for electrical storms but this year it has been at its worst.
Some of the reasons that have been suggested to be a causative are temperature increase as well as deforestation.
Among the victims are two Dhaka students who got struck while playing football and a teenage boy who got hit while collecting mangoes.
Since the start of March this year, close to 90 people have been killed. This is more compared to the 51 who were struck in 2015.
The head of Bangladesh’s disaster management body Mohammad Riaz Ahmed told Voice of America he was “indeed concerned” by the rise in the number of deaths.
It is predicted that more thunderstorms will happen this month.
During the monsoon season, Bangladesh gets hit severally with storms. These happen from June to September.
