The officials of the Eiffel Tower security department have stopped the visiting of the iconic landmark by visitors, due to a terror scare. As reported by the local news agency, it was closed for all the visitors today.
According to the media reports, the security alarm was raised approximately at 9am when the officials spotted a man ascending the tower with a suspicious bag. However, more details are yet to be released about the man identified.
The master piece Eiffel Tower has threats by various terror groups including the al-Qaida and Islamic State (ISIS). It was targeted more in the recent times, with the active participation of France in the Syrian air strikes, the Times of India reported.
Keeping in view of these conditions, the security at the tower has been increased after the Charlie Hebdo being attacked in January.
