The Meteorological department of India, has alas! declared that the heat wave has calmed down in major parts of India, bringing in relief to the effected areas.
The Heat wave which has swept over the parts of India, mainly affecting the Indian states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, has recorded temperatures nothing less than 45C at major parts of India. However, the predictions of the meteorological department, which expects a little pre-monsoon rainfalls at some parts of India might bring in some relief to the Heat wave effected areas.
According to the Meteorological department reports, Monsoon winds may soon hit the Kerala coast and may spread all over the India by mid June. Telangana and Andhra pradesh states may get monsoon delight by June 1st, as per the predictions.
Telangana, Disaster Management officer said ” we are happy at least now, that the Heat waves have completely stopped in Telangana state. About 300 people died here because of the heat strokes. we expect the rainy season soon”.
On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh being the worst hit, has recorded more than 1,100 deaths. Some districts of AP are still facing the heat waves.
The governments of the two states have failed to contain the deaths, though they have taken preventive measures like advertising through the television and Media over the precautionary measures to follow. Most of the deaths have been from rural areas.
The National Capital like many other regions, has recorded 46C temperature and the hospitals in the NCR were crowded with patients due to heat strokes. one of the doctors at a Private hospital in Delhi said ” we have not seen these many patients since last five years due to heat stroke. It suggests the urgent need for environmental protection”
Scientists have declared that the present heat waves are due to the Environmental pollutions in major cosmopolitan cities of India. They have also cautioned of adverse effects, if the pollution is not kept under check.
