The Major Heat wave which has swept through India has killed more than 800 people in India, alarming the governments over the temperatures.
The Meteorological department of India were not able to predict exactly when this Heat wave could diminish as of now for a few more days. ” we cannot say how long this heat wave last until a few days”- a meteorological department officer.
The country has been facing with record high temperatures in past 80 years. The National capital region witnessed temperatures close to 50C, which is alarming. Other parts of India followed the same trend with much more intensity of Heat.
The worst hit are the poor people in rural areas of India, who faces with intense heat and power-cuts on the other hand. On the contrast they cannot stay safe at home, as works in the fields are mandatory for them to attend to make a living. About 600 deaths are from the rural areas from a total of 800 deaths estimated till today. The toll is said to rise even more, which is a alarming global effect.
On the other hand, the increased burden on the power grids are causing power failures compiling citizens to face the intensity of suffocation, the Yahoo News reports.
Telangana and Andhrapradesh state chief ministers conducted emergency meetings to take preventive measures. Orders have been passed to all the hospitals in the states to attend the heat strokes cases as early as possible.
Officers have urged the NGO’s to provide with drinking water facilities in towns and villages where ever possible to help the heat effected. Doctors advised to wear white clothes as much as possible and to take fruit juices and other fluids regularly.
Many states having running plus two supplementary exams at this period. The heat wave effects would reflect in the examinations making it difficult for the students. There is also a proposal to postpone the re=opening of the schools and colleges until the heat wave goes off, before the Education Ministry. Many colleges are about to start in the first week of June.
