High intensity Heat wave which has been sweeping through the regions of India, since the last 10 days has now killed over 1100 people, mainly in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states. The temperatures are not falling anything lower than 45C.
852 people died in Andhrapradesh, whereas 269 people died in Telangana. The rest of India, recorded some 20 deaths. The rising deaths has been creating a panic in the people of the two states.
khammam, has been the hottest place in Telangana since 1947, the temperature here is 49.8C today. The Meteorological department, has predicted thunder rains in some parts of the two states. Therefore, a few places might get a little respite
Around 100 have died in the Guntur district of AP. Special Disaster management officer, Tulsi Rani said “the temperatures are alarming. But the monsoons are still far away”. The monsoon rains are expected to hit the kerala coast by the end of this month, the NDTV reports.
Government has been trying to hard to endure the safety of the people. Television programs have been broadcast to educate people of the hot conditions and the precautionary measures to be taken.
Tulsi Rani said that the government has been taking all the required steps. However, people in rural areas complain that the government has been creating a problem by bringing in power cuts in the mid afternoons.
