MELBOURNE: A Malaysian Airlines passenger plane has made an emergency landing in the Tullamarine airport, of Melbourne, Australia. The officials cited a possible fire in the engine as a reason for the emergency landing.
Flight MH148 which was scheduled to take off from the Tullamarine airport, to the Malaysian Capital Kuala Lumpur has developed technical problems as soon as the flight took off from the airport. The airport officials said that the plane has landed safely without any problems.
Malaysia airlines said in a statement that all the 330 passengers, were moved to the safe places in the airport after a caution from the pilot over a fire in the engine of the plane. The Malaysian authorities said that their was no evidence of fire in the plane externally, after a preliminary inspection was done. However, the airlines has reiterated that the safety of the passengers was their priority before all the things.
A Spokesperson from the Australian government’s Airlines services said that the Plane reported fire in the engine, from its cabin. “The plane was cleared to land in the emergency aviation rescue sites, as soon as we received the information. This was the standard procedure for emergency landing,” the spokesperson said.
This could have been the Malaysian airline’s another disaster if it has gone wild too. Earlier, in March a Malaysian flight MH370 has disappeared with 239 on board passengers and has never returned. In another instance, flight MH17 was shot down by a missile when it was in the Ukranian air space, killing 298 passengers and crew, the BBC News reports.
The two accidents of the airplanes have destroyed the fame of the Malaysian airlines and forced the state owned company into a massive economical losses. Malaysian Airline’s new CEO Christoph Mueller said, ” The Airlines will from now, work as an entirely a new company to safeguard and protect every ones interests”.
