The Mali hotel attack has triggered a strong condemnation from the China President IX Jinping on Saturday, as a report detailed three top Chinese officials among the 21 people killed. The report said that three Chinese executives from the China Railway Construction Corporation Limited were killed in the Radisson Blu hotel siege in Bamako, the capital of Mali.
Sources said that the gunmen attacked the Chinese officials, when the China Railway Corporation was holding a meeting at the Hotel Radisson. The State-owned China Railway Corp is reported to be the Country’s biggest engineering contractor.
The firm identified the victims as Wang Xuanshang, deputy general manager of China Railway Corp’s international group, Chang Xuehui, general manager of the company’s West Africa division and Zhou Tianxiang, general manager of the corporation’s international group. President IX Jinping expressed his deep condolences to the victims families and called for an united march of the nations against the terrorists.
“This is unfortunate for us. China will strengthen its cooperation in every regard to the international agencies to fight against the growing terrorism. Time has come for the nations to unite and fight against the growing terrorist activities which are hurting innocent lives”, President Jinping said.
The terrorists attack had killed 21 people despite of the Mali government and the UN forces doing their best to rescue the people held as hostages inside the Hotel Raddison Blu.
One of the rescued who witnessed the brutal attack said that the gunmen have stormed the hotel in the morning with slogans of ‘God is Great’ before attacking the hotel guests nearby. One of the astonishing facts is that the gunmen covered with masks were known to be speaking in native English, which highlighted the involvement of locals in the attack.
The Mali government has ordered for a detailed investigation over the attack and further details are yet to be known.
