CHENNAI: A 35-year old stall worker, murdered his wife and her three daughters following an argument within the family. The incident took place in Royapettah area of the city, with the bodies being identified two days after the neighbors complained of foul smell. The murderer has reportedly killed the victims by smashing their heads with an iron rod.
Coming to the details, the accused 35-year old Chinnaraj met Pandiammal four years ago. The latter used to work hard for a living after being deserted by her husband. As time passed by, Chinnaraj married Pandiammal and convinced her to live with him in Royapettah along with her three daughters.
Reportedly, on Tuesday the couple have argued over an unknown issue which led to Chinnaraj killing his wife and her three daughters. No one knew of the incident until the house owner called for the police unable to bear the stench coming from Chinnaraj’s house.
“We have identified the dead bodies lying on the floor. The murderer confessed the crime and has been sent to jail as per the court’s order. We are yet to investigate into the details. Unfortunately, all the dead bodies were without clothes. The investigation is on and we will make sure that the criminal gets the maximum sentence”, the Police said on Friday.
The police said that Chinnaraj visited his house and locked the door in spite of the foul smell spreading across, two days after the incident.
An autopsy report is yet to be released, which will help in determining the nature of the murder. Meanwhile, the criminal court in Chennai has granted a police custody to interrogate the accused in jail.
All the three daughters of the women were educated, with two of them pursing intermediate education and the elder daughter planning to do a paramedical course.
