In what could be termed as a “vengeance by the Indian Army” over the militants killing 18 army personnel in an attack over the army convoys in Manipur, the Indian army has killed the militants through military operations across the border. The militants attack on the Indian army was claimed to be the deadliest attack, in the recent years.
Indian Army, which usually does not take part in cross border operations has said in a statement that India was in touch with the Myanmar authorities before the military operation, across the borders of the Myanmar. ” In the last few days we have received some credible news, from a few trusted sources. We have come to know that the militants involved in the killings of our army personnel, have been planning for another strike”, the Indian Army said in a statement.
The Army statement read, ” As a result to safeguard our civilians, a immediate response was necessary and hence we have conducted two military operations across the Indo-Myanmar borders.”
Reports claim that the militants have crossed 11KMS into the borders of the Myanmar. The army has been planning to strike them. Manipur, has been suffering from several armed insurgency in the recent past, The Huffingtonpost reports.
The operation was described as one of the Bold operations by the Indian Army. The operation, however, has cost several casualties.
