Though there were a number of speculations about Ravi shastri being the new Indian Cricket team coach, the decision over this hasn’t been finalized yet.
BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur informed the Media that, the decision is yet to be taken. He said that the Board will soon convene a committee to look into this matter. He added ” we are looking after all the possibilities for a new coach. The coach will be selected based on the longer benefits of the team. we will soon short list all the available names and will inform you”.
When asked about the appointment of Rahul, Ganguly and Sachin as advisors to the Indian team he said that ” The Board is committed to the overall development of the game through skillful endeavor. Hence we have decided to use the experience of the former players to guide the young cricketers. They will assist them through out the series”.
He also clarified the Media over the Indo-Pak series speculations. “Pak Board president met me and BCCI president Dalmiya in Delhi and Kolkata respectively. We are looking for a series in December as per the FTP. However, it is still under discussion and we would inform you as soon as its outcome is decided” Thakur said, the Cricbuzz reports.
