The police have arrested a North Carolina man for having failed to return an old video rental that he took 14 yrs ago.
James Meyers said that the police pulled him over on Tuesday because he was driving a defective taillight after which they informed him that they had a warrant of arrest on him.
Mr. James rented from the company J&J the comedy video Freddie Got Fingered. The company is by now closed.
He was charged for misdemeanor as a result of failing to take back the rental property.
He said that he took as a joke when the police officer informed him that there has been a warrant of arrest against him from 2002.
For the first time, Meyers was handcuffed.
He was a given a court date after being booked at the police station. Later on, these charges were dismissed. He face a 200 USD fine.
The Box Office considered the movie Freddie Got Fingered after its release in 2001 and was equally followed by a number of criticisms.
Tom Green’s attention was caught by the story. He was the star comedian in the film. He said that he would have been more than happy to pay the fine.
