BAMAKO: The World has witnessed another sad day, with a Paris like attack carried out by the terrorists in Bamako, the capital city of Mali. On Friday morning, gunmen with grenades marched into the hotel Radisson Blu trapping more than 140 guests inside.
The attack has shaken the West African country, which immediately reacted against the threat with a military operation. Troops of the United Nations, France and Mali are carrying a military operation to rescue the guests inside the Hotel Radisson Blu.
Preliminary reports say that as many as 27 people were killed in the attacks and the military operation has been successfully completed with the evacuation of the victims to a safe place from the targeted hotel.
One of the rescued said that the gunmen stormed into hotel with the slogans of ‘God is Great’ attacking the people nearby. Majority of the guests in the hotel were foreigners from America, France and India.
The Indian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that all the 20 Indians were evacuated safely from the Hotel. On the other hand, US President Barack Obama conducted an emergency meeting at the White house to send forces to the Mali’s capital.
An official statement about the number of people killed by the attackers and the number of causalities is yet to be released.
Al-Qaeda has claimed the responsibility over the militant attack in Mali.
