It has all been happening in the aftermath of the incident in which Turkey downed a Russian warplane citing national security as a reason. In the latest development of the issue, Russian President Vladimir Putin accused the United States of leaking the flight path of Russian warplane Su-24 to Turkey.
President Vladimir Putin opined that America must behave in a sensible manner being the leader of the coalition against ISIS and see that the warplanes were not targeted by the members.
Speaking at a press conference Putin said, “America knew the flight path of our warplane and we were hit exactly there at that point of time. Why did we give our fight details to America if it does not intend to safeguard the coalition’s fight against ISIS?”.
Downing of the Russian warplane Su-24 bomber has caused a political turmoil between Russia and Turkey with the two countries exchanging verbal blows since the incident, which took place on November 24th.
As per the reports, two Russians were killed in the downing of warplane Su-24 bomber. Turkey claimed that it has taken the weird decision as the plane entered its airspace and posed a problem to its national security.
However, the rescued pilot on the warplane said that they haven’t received any warning signals from Turkey before it started attacking using fighter jets. Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his anguish over the incident terming it as a “stab in the back”. He went on to say that Turkey intends to safeguard the interests of ISIS by downing the Russian warplane.
Ahmet Davutoglu, the Prime Minister of Turkey in his column to a newspaper said that his Government will look forward to settle the issue with Russia and not distract from concentrating on ISIS. But, Erdogan the President of Turkey, was reluctant to apologize Russia over downing its warplane. The president reiterated that whatever Turkey has done was on its national interests.
