NEW DELHI: Apple has officially confirmed the launch of it’s latest releases iphone 6S and 6S Plus in India on October 16th. This will be the fastest iphone roll out into the Indian market after the latest models were being made available globally. The iphone 6S and 6S Plus will be released in India, coming less than a month after the release of the latest models globally. The news has already drawn wide spread interest from the Indian iphone lovers.
It is very clear that the Apple has targeted the festive season in India by selecting October 16th as the launch date. On the other hand, the iphone will face Samsung’s Galaxy Note5 and S6 edge+ as opponents in the Indian market at the time it will be launched.
Apple has also added that it has sold over 13 million units of iphone 6S and 6S Plus breaking the previous year best of 10 million units of iphone 6 and 6 Plus, which also describes the craze for the Apple products globally.
The new iphones will sport a complete HD display iPhone 6S (4.7-inch HD) and iPhone 6S (5.5-inch Full HD), similar to that of the earlier model. In addition, the 6S phones are provided with the new 3D touch display technology which lets users to differentiate between types of touches and taps in preloaded apps as well as on the homescreen.
Both the new variants of iphone are provided with a new A9 processor and are powered with a 2GB RAM. The iphone 6S and 6S Plus will run IOS 9 Operating system. The smartphones are available in three different variants 16, 32 and 128 GB, with no support for MicroSD card storage expansion.
Coming to the camera, the two phones are provided with a 12MP rear camera powered with a dual-tone LED flash. The front facing cameras are provided with 5MP sensors, the Times of India reported.
The official prices for iphone 6S and 6S plus are yet to be declared by Apple India. However, it is expected to cost around Rs.60,000 as the base price.
