The US-based car handling company, Uber, has joined the race to have Driverless cars on our roads. It confirmed that it will put a test vehicle on the streets of Pittsburgh.
Via a statement, the company said that it has fitted a Ford Fusion with cameras, radar and laser scanners.
Uber is carrying out its experiment in Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh.
Numerous technology companies have been joining hands so as to develop self-driven vehicles.
Google is the pioneer company but other companies such as Tesla are working on the technology. Chinese car and tech firms have also made quite an impressice progress on the project.
Uber is targeting to see to it that car ownership comes to an end. The company the goal of empowering you to summon a car, have it get to you within five minutes and take to any place that you intend to reach.
In major cities it has just about hit that goal. The average time for being picked up by an Uber is less than five minutes. This week, the company began a scheme that gave all residents in a small San Francisco community $100 (£68.50) every month to spend on Uber.
