The Laboratory reports of Maggi noodles tested in the national capital found that ten out of every thirteen samples of noodles, contained excessive lead content. The lead content crossed the allowed limits by a greater extent, proving to be potentially injurious to health.
The tests ordered by the Delhi government has found Maggi to contain high quantity of lead and is dangerous to consume. The preliminary reports have found Maggi to be exceeding the permitted levels of chemicals in its ingredients. The government is likely to constitute a committee to deal with the case and to discuss the future of the Noodles distribution.
The Product has been the centre of controversies since last month, when food security authorities of Uttar Pradesh found that Maggi contained high amount of lead and sodium Glutamate. Following the Uttar Pradesh government’s findings, other state’s governments have also ordered a laboratory probe into the case.
On the other hand, Nestle India, the manufactures of Maggi claim that they have not exceeded the permitted levels of chemicals in any of their products, the NDTV reports.
A Bihar court has ordered to file a FIR, First information report on Maggi and its Brand advertisers Amitabh bacchan, Priyanka Chopra and Madhuri Dixit. Earlier, the Central government has also made clear that the brand advertisers will be responsible.
