The BCCI officials said that Ravi Shastri, the former India test batsmen will continue as the Team India director for the upcoming Bangladesh tour. Though the appointment seems to be for a short term period, he is the only contender for the post of Team India Director as of now.
Ravi Shastri, was the Indian team director since the India’s tour of England last summer. Under his guidance, the team has secured a notable success. It is believed that Shastri was the reason for Team India’s journey till the semi-finals, though it did not win a match since two months being in Australia.
Alongside Ravi Shastri as the Team India director, Sanjay Bangar and Bharat Arun will continue as the batting and bowling coaches respectively. They were appointed alongside Shastri since the England tour. The Board has renewed their services for a short term, as their contract expired by the end of Word cup 2015, the NDTV reports.
Shastri’s appointment is said to boost India’s performance. Earlier the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI), also appointed a advisory committee in the form of Ganguly, Tendulkar and Laxman to help the team performance.,
