LUCKNOW: Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mr.Akhilesh Yadav has today launched the official twitter account of the Tajmahal. Amrit Abhijat, the Tourism secretary of Uttar Pradesh claimed that Tajmahal would be the World’s first monument to have a Twitter account.
“The Taj Mahal is the first historical monument in the world which has a twitter account of its own,” he said.
Earlier, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has denied permission to hold an event at the Taj citing environmental and security problems as reasons. Tajmahal is also the only monument to start it’s Twitter account on the Independence Day.
Well known all over the world as a symbol of love and also one of UNESCO’s Wonders of the World, Tajmahal attracts thousands of tourists every day. The archaeological department of Uttar Pradesh has been working around for the development of the Taj Mahal to attract more number of tourists.
Accordingly, the State Tourism department has started High-speed wifi hotspot services around the premises of the Tajmahal. All the tourists visiting the Tajmahal can access the service free for the first 30-minutes, the Times of India reports.
The facility has been setup by the State run Telecom BSNL, with a optical fibre backbone which can provide data speeds upto 100Mbps.
