Your Raspberry Pi will soon have Artificial Intelligence

Google has plans to integrate Artificial Intelligence and machine learning tools in the Raspberry Pi later this year.

Through a blog post earlier this week, the Raspberry Pi Foundation announced that it was working with the internet giant so as to build “smart tools” in the credit card-sized PC.

As at the moment, survey is still being done to determine the right smart tools that will be more useful, reports The Inquirer.

Some of the suggested tools are the ones that will help in natural language processing, speech-to-text translation, and sentiment analysis and face/emotion recognition.

Google is hugely reputable when it comes to developing tools for machine learning, robotics, home automation, wearable and internet of things devices.

Raspberry Pi said it is optimistic the new tools will contribute in helping create more powerful projects.

Via its blog post, Raspberry said that 2017 would be an exciting year for Google. The tech titan will come up with advanced features for the maker community.

“It [Google] intends to make a range of smart tools available this year. Google’s range of AI and machine-learning technology could enable makers to build even more powerful projects,” said Raspberry Pi.

While speaking to media outlets, Google’s spokeswoman said that so far they have no specific information to give. She added that they are exciting to be onboard with the community through open source machine learning tools.

Raspberry Pi Foundation founder, Eben Upton, said that it was exciting to have Google get much closer to the community.

He said the most exciting venture is the possibilities of having Raspberry Pi connect with some machine learning work that would let the firm build smart devices for interacting with the world.

The Pi was first manufactured in Wales and has now been adopted by programmers, school children and inventors worldwide. The business community is also increasingly developing interest towards it.
