On Wednesday, there was a very important announcement that was made by the Vice President of engineering of the Multi-National – Google concerning their new product. The announcement was issued during the Google’s Android Developers Summit that the company has been working on in partnership with Samsung on a smartphone that can be folded.
In a nut shell, before its contemporaries like ZTE, Samsung and Huawei, Google officially declared its stand on its long-awaited smartphone. Though, the project is still more like a concept even after the announcement.
After Apple, everybody is eagerly waiting for Google to come up with the same concept and since Apple has been so silent about it, Google decided to take the responsibility. During Google’s Developer Summit, the company did not exclude topic of foldable smartphone from their it’s list.
Also, in the twitter handle of the Android Developers, there was a post that showcased how Apps are expected to actually function on this foldable smartphone. In the event, Dave Burke further made a clarification that the users should expect to see more features of this foldable phone in new Android release, so such features are most likely to be included in Android Q.
The announcement about this latest gadget was made on the same day when Samsung also announced its foldable phone technology during the Samsung Developers Conference. Known as the Infinity Flex Display, this will be a compact smartphone that provides a larger and more immersive screen when unfolded.
Users will be able to multitask and view contents on this wide display. The app experience is said to behave in a seamless manner in terms of transition from the smaller display when the phone is folded to the larger display when the device is unfolded. This supports the earlier announcement that was made by Google about this new gadget.
While on the larger display, users will be able to use at least three active apps that run simultaneously on the larger display.
While Samsung is still keeping it a secret about when to release its foldable smartphone, Google admitted that in creating their foldable device which they are planning to launch by early next year, they had to work closely with Samsung. Both Google’s and Samsung’s events are taking place at the same time.
We also know that Samsung’s foldable Smartphone is no longer a secret to us. There have been so many rumours and confirmation from the it for many years now. According to Samsung, their customers should expect more information on the device comes during its November Developer’s Conference on Wednesday.
