Users and fans expect the Nokia 801 to be the global variant of Nokia X7, meaning that this phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 710.
There are few weeks to go before we come to the end of this year which provides enough time for HMD to slide in few more gadgets. In total, there are three different rumours at the same time about three different Nokia phones – the Nokia 8.1, the Nokia 9 and the Indian launch of Nokia 7.1.
Let’s concentrate on this Nokia model – Nokia 8.1 which is expected to be a variant of Nokia X17. Previously, this phone was spotted on Geekbench and currently in Taiwan, a new NCC filling suggests that it could be launched very soon. Just to add Nokia 8.1 is one of the phones that has been listed among the devices that supports Google’s ARCore.
The new device will have the same design as that one of the China-only Nokia X7, which means that there would be no much difference between its design and the designs of the Nokia 7.1, the Nokia 6.1 and the likes.
There is still some argument about the name of this phone. The user do not know whether it will be called the Nokia 8.1 or the Nokia 7.1 plus by considering the plus mark that usually tags along on phone with big display. And this phone have a big display of 6.18-inch FHD+.
The biggest indication that Nokia 8.1 will be launched very soon is the fact that the device is listed among the devices that support Google’s ARCore. Essentially, the certification means that this gadget has passed Google’s quality checks that is performed in ensuring that the checked device is an optimised one for AR applications.
Nokia 6 Plus (2018), Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 7Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 8 are some of the other devices that are in the list of the devices that can support the Google’s ARCore.
Earlier, Geekbench had confirmed that this new Nokia model will be powered by the Snapdragon 710 chipset and it will be able to run Android 9 pie out-of-the box, which is mostly expected because of the dedication by HMD towards the Android one program.
The Nokia 8.1 will also come with a RAM of 4GB as the base model is expected to go up to 6GB. If HMD will not announce anything concerning Nokia 7.1 plus, then the difference may only be in the phone size and the size of the battery. HMD has been so silent about its upcoming new phone model, so it will force the users to wait patiently and see what happens.
Since there is a big gap in the Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 segment that are required to be filled, Nokia 7.1 plus or Nokia 8.1 will mostly come to India.
Without issuing any announcement, HMD had decided to discontinue Nokia 7 Plus in India. This model offered a Snapdragon 660 SoC. So hopefully, the Nokia 8.1 will perfectly replace the Nokia 7.1 and it would sit in between the Nokia 6.1 and the Nokia 8 Sirocco.
