Now that Samsung has released a report of their earnings for the first three quarters of the year, we can boldly say that all of the three of its 2018 flagship smartphones were underwhelming. Stellar performance in Samsung’s semi business was dragged down by the company’s mobile division.
Over and over, a lot of thanks in huge portion to a trio of premium smartphones that are known to be the most boring flagship that has been released by Samsung in years.
When compared to the last year’s Galaxy S8, the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus were more powerful upgrades, though most of their features were the same with in terms of design and no compelling new feature whatsoever. From the year 2012, these Galaxy models have been on track to be the worst selling Galaxy phones from the company.
The Galaxy Note 9 was not even different, though some of its specs were very much different from those of Note 8, it had the same design and there is only one feature that is worthy to note that most users will not even care about: A new S-pen Stylus which is Bluetooth enabled.
Most users are expecting 2019 to be a very important year for the topmost smartphone vendor in the world by a large sales volume. This is because the year 2018 was very boring at the high end of Samsung smartphone line. The year 2019 is shaping up to be a huge and the best year for Samsung. What a good News?
The company is planning to start the year with what is expected by the Galaxy funs and users to be a completely redesigned Samsung Galaxy S10 with plenty, first time features of the Samsung Galaxy models. Some of these features are expected to include, a powerful brand new camera system, an in-display fingerprint sensor, without excluding an all-screen design with a hole cut out for the camera, this hole replaces a notch.
In the new year, another expectation by the users is that the company will follow up the Galaxy S10 with another Galaxy models, say “Galaxy F” smartphone with a foldable OLED display and more powerful than its predecessors. Currently, there is a rumour that in the course of this week, Samsung is likely to make announcement regarding preliminary details surrounding the Galaxy F, also, there is a conclusive evidence that this will be the case.
This week, as from Wednesday 7th November, the annual Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) will kick off as it was scheduled.
This conference is not as big as the one for Apple’s WWDC event, though, the 2018 Samsung Developer Conference is expected to be more action-packed than before. This is because Samsung is well prepared to take the wraps off of its hotly expected foldable Galaxy F smartphone.
Samsung was allegedly with in a race Huawei. The race was about which company among the two would be the first to make announcement on a product or a phone model with a foldable display, but none won the race since both companies ended up losing out to a no name brand from China.
For Samsung, the good news is that the foldable phone whose announcement was made last week will likely never launch out of China. This also looks very appalling. Samsung’s Galaxy F will be a more refined smartphone compared to the previous Galaxy series- it will work as a phone when folded and as a tablet when unfolded. Supposedly, Samsung’s next-generation 7nm chipset will be used to power the new Galaxy F.
