There are high chances that Samsung Galaxy S10 will be the first smartphone to have an all-screen display and get rid of the annoying black frame. According to the latest Galaxy S10 leak, the device designers have no plans of giving it any bezels or notches.
The screen is set to stretch on all edges of the smartphone and include an under-the-screen fingerprint scanner and camera.
As per this leak, which is obtained from Samsung’s OLED Forum held in China at the start of this month, there are every indications that the Korean company will eliminate bezels with the aim of maximizing the screen space.
Bezels refer to the border on the phone’s edge and tend to house technologies such as sensors, the camera, speaker and home buttons.
Needless to say, these bezels normally consume a considerable amount of space, forcing the manufacture to give you just some small space. With that in mind, Samsung might have seen it necessary to actually eradicate them so that you can get a bigger screen while not tampering with the smartphone’s normal size.
@UniverseIce, a reputable leaker, released an image that showed the under the screen technology which many speculate Samsung will make use of.
There is a strong belief amongst market experts that this technology will factor in cameras, fingerprint scanners and sensors for facial recognition (FaceID).
If Samsung successfully goes through with this technology, no one can deny the fact that S10 will be the most visually appealing gadget in the market.
It must be noted that Samsung itself is yet to acknowledge these rumors and leaks.
If we compare the leak that was just made compared to what Samsung Mobile’s DJ Koh said last month, then we are compelled to believe that this leak could have some bearing. According to the previous information, Samsung was working to bring about a ‘very significant’ redesign of its next flagship device.
Other tech leaders like Apple have been at work in the past years, trying to device ways they can completely remove the bezels from their smartphones.
However, all these efforts have always failed because it seems as though it’s hard to have front-facing cameras without the bezels.
This lead to the emergence of the notch which allowed all the technology to be compressed into the one small area at the screen’s top. Even though this innovation was well marketed, it attracted criticism due to its inability to some visually appealing looks.
We expect the launch of the S10 to take place early next year.
As we still continue being mesmerized by how Samsung Galaxy S10 will be launched without the bezel, there even more surprising news from the Korean firm. There are leaks which suggest that the company will no longer have the 3.5mm headphone jack in its future devices, starting with the S10.
According to Bloomberg, the jack-less Galaxy S10 is currently undergoing testing and this indicates the wider range of changes the firm has in store. Every action by the firm indicates that it has plans to develop completely wireless devices.
Samsung remains one of the top-rated tech names that has refused to remove the headphone jack and there are fans who loved this stubbornness. As such, you would expect significant outcry when the company removes it.
Even though such a move had already been predicted in the Galaxy Note 10, seeing it moved up to the Galaxy S10 would be quite controversial.
Back in September, Samsung announced that it was changing its strategy with regards to smartphone innovation. The firms said that it would debut novel features on mid-range devices.
It went ahead to do exactly that. Within a couple of weeks, we saw the launch of the first smartphone that has four rear-facing cameras, and none of these devices were flagships. Having made such a major decision, it would not be surprising when the company decides to actually remove the headphone jack.
