NEW DELHI: After a three-member panel setup by the City government did not name Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in their initial report on irregularities in DDCA, the ruling party BJP has once again initiated a war of words against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) demanding for an unconditional apology from Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
Bharateeya Janata Party (BJP)’s spokesperson MJ Akbar said, “It is now revealed by the panel itself that Mr Jaitley has nothing to do with the irregularities in DDCA. There is no indication of wrong doing as alleged by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. We demand an unconditional apology from Kejriwal and also, he must accept his fault in the court of law”.
“Now the CM and his own team itself is trapped….. they had no allegations to make against Jaitley”, he added.
On the other hand, AAP quickly launched a counter-offensive saying that the BJP and the Finance Minister are misinterpreting the findings of the committee. “The panel has limited terms of reference. The case was not studied closely and the panel itself requested for an in-depth investigation. I don’t know why the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is fearing an investigation”, Delhi CM Kejriwal said.
