NEW DELHI: The most wanted terrorist for India since 23 years, Dawood Ibrahim’s presence in Pakistan was confirmed by a sting operation carried by a national TV channel. According to the channel, Dawood now lives in Karachi’s Clifton area – which the Indian government has already briefed to the Pakistan at several occasions before.
The video portraits the underworld don’s address as D 13, Block 4, Clifton, Karachi – a posh area in the Karachi city. It has been reported that Dawood’s accommodation looks similar to that of Osama-bin-laden in Abbottabad.
The sting operation reveals Dawood’s house flanked by a cricket stadium on one side and the Clifton Marquee, a popular wedding and banquet hall on the other. The compound has three-metre high walls, barricades leading up to the entrance and the residence is manned by private security personnel 24/7. The locals have also confirmed the presence of Dawood Ibrahim in their neighborhood.
Speaking on it, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs Mr Vikas Swarup said “The latest findings only strengthens the information already available with us. We have informed them (Pakistan) about Dawood’s presence at several occasions and requested his deportation to India. But, there was never a positive outcome in this regard”.
“Dawood Ibrahim is wanted by the Indian law. He is also a UN-designated global terrorist. I expect that Pakistan will at least act now and hand over the international terrorist to us”, he concluded.
Dawood is most wanted in India for the past 23 years, but the Pakistan government has always denied his presence despite irrefutable evidence being provided by Delhi at several occasions.
