NEW DELHI: India Prime Minister Narendra Modi, congratulated the Indian Space Research Organization(ISRO) for successfully launching India’s new communications satellite GSAT-15.
The satellite was launched from the spaceport of Kourou in French Guiana.
“Congratulations to the ISRO and the team for successfully launching the satellite GSAT-15. I wish ISRO a very successful journey ahead”, PM Modi tweeted on his twitter handle.
This is yet another successful launch by the ISRO, which has been famous in the recent times for its success rate in launching space vehicles.
The satellite GSAT-15 was injected into the specified Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) from Kourou spaceport in Guiana. The satellite is expected to enhance the Indian Tele-communications, Direct to Home(DTH) and other radio navigation services.
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), which monitors the space programs in India was founded by Vikram Sarabhai on August 15th, 1969. K Radha Krishnan and A S Kiran Kumar are the current administrators of the space research Organization, the TOI reported.
