PATNA: Nitish Kumar, the present care-taker Chief Minister of Bihar invited the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his Oath-taking ceremony to be held on Friday afternoon in Gandhi Maidan at Patna. The invitation seems to be a reciprocal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulating Nitish Kumar on winning the Bihar elections.
JD(U) leaders have officially confirmed the invite to the Prime Minister and said that it is up to the PM to decide over the call. However, sources said that the Prime Minister will not be available to attend the Oath-taking ceremony due to prior commitments. Instead, Union Ministers Mr Venkaiah Naidu and Mr Rajiv Pratab Rudy are expected to represent Prime Minster Modi at the function.
“Of course, Nitish has called the Prime Minister and all the prominent political leaders in India. It is up to them to decide now on whether to attend the ceremony are not”, a JD(U) leader said to the PTI.
When asked about the political essence behind Nitish inviting the NDA leaders even after a severe election combat through personal comments, a senior JD(U) leader said that it is a matter of courtesy and that Nitish had invited all the senior BJP leaders as a mark of courtesy.
On Friday afternoon, the Oath-taking ceremony of Nitish is expected to be attended by all the JD(U) leaders, Indian National Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Vice President Rahul Gandhi and other states chief minister including the Union Ministers.
