As the month long voting process comes to an end, various sources have released their exit polls predicting the result of the just concluded Bihar Assembly elections consisting of 243 members. Majority of the exit polls predicted that the regional Nitish-Lalu alliance would form the new government in Bihar.
The voting results will be declared on Sunday, 8th November.
Four out of the six exit polls predicted that the Nitish-Lalu alliance will form the Government in Bihar while one of the exit polls supported the NDA. The remaining one stayed neutral concluding that no party gets the majority in the recently concluded Bihar assembly elections.
Nitish is expected to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the third term as the majority of the exit polls gave his alliance the lead. News Nation poll said that the Nitish-Lalu alliance will secure 125 seats, three more than the majority needed. On the other hand, Times Now predicted 122 seats for JD(U)-RJD-Congress coalition, exact seats needed to form a government.
There has been some uncertainty among the political parties as the exit polls predicted close results between BJP and the grand alliance. NDA hopes that the majority turns in its favor while the grand alliance is already in celebrations over its predicted victory, the TOI reports.
The Exit polls in Indian elections tend to have a reasonable accuracy than the opinion polls which are taken a month before the elections. However, we cannot depend completely over the exit polls as there are equal instances where the exit polls were proved to be false.
