RUSSIA: Meeting on the sidelines of the SCO summit, India and Pakistan have took a forward step by discussing over the issues between the two countries. The two neighboring nations have agreed on the fact that the peace and development in their respected regions can only be promoted with a cordial relationship between the two countries.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has managed to get an assurance from his counterpart, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over the execution of the accused in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. As per the reports, the Pakistan PM has agreed to take steps to ensure justice in the long pending case. Pakistan has also agreed to send the voice samples of the accused, in the same case on the request of Mr.Modi.
Reports claim that, during the bilateral meet PM Modi advised Pak PM Sharif, to take action against the 26/11 Mumbai attacks mastermind Mr.Lakhvi to ensure peace and cordial relations between the two countries.
The grant of bail to the 26/11 Mumbai attacks mastermind Lakhvi, in April, triggered criticism from India. India maintained no dialogue with Pakistan, citing injustice in the long standing case.
The two countries will be meeting next week, to discuss terrorism in New Delhi. This would be the first bilateral meet after a long time, between the two nations.
The two countries also agreed to an early meeting of the DG BSF and chief of Pakistan Rangers, it would be followed by another meeting of the DGMO’s. The foreign Secretary of India, briefed the media that the two countries would be releasing all the fishermen in their custody with in 15 day, the Times of India reports.
