Kerala Chief Minister has maintained that there is no truth that can be found in trying to connect him to the solar scam.
Mr. Chandy Oommen has challenged the opposition to come out with any proof that he is guilty and he will without any doubt step down. All he needs is a one percent truth in the allegations for him to resign.
After a cabinet meeting, he spoke to the reporters during which he told them that the truth will eventually be exposed. He further said that he is willing to resign if at all the allegations levelled against him will hold.
In a response to the attack that the move by LDF to attack the government in the Assembly had this to say; “the opposition is nervous that the UDF has grown in popularity in its five year rule. The government is not under any form of threat.”
Chandy further said that Saritha has a questionable credibility and that whoever takes up such charges will eventually find themselves disgraced.
The opposition continued to call for his resignation while the Minister holds ground that he is innocent. He says that he has the ability to defend himself considering that his conscience is clear. However, he complained that the media people are difficult to understand that.
The state incurred no loss
Mr. Chandy still maintains that there is no single rupee lost that the state has incurred as a result of the scam. He asserted that the government was keen enough to take legal action against all the culprits of the fraud when it was discovered.
Also, Mr. Chandy criticized CPI (M) due to its attack on the former diplomat and the vice-chairman for higher education council. The party’s students wing SFI was critical in this attack. He said that the party will pay dearly for that.
He also had a reply on the charge that Benny Behanan and Thampanoor Ravi tried to influence Saritha. In this case, Mr. Chandy said that the matter has already gone to the Commission and that they should left to decide on their own. The two leaders have similarly reacted to the allegations.
Earlier on, Saritha produced an audio tape that has a recording purported to be a recording between the two leaders. In the conversation, they are depicted as trying to convince her to make an otherwise decision.
On the other hand, LDF leaders have extended a needy hand to Governor Justice P. they requested him to back out from the customary policy address of the gov’t in the House. The move is to show that they are not in support of the solar and bar bribery scams that have rocked the government.
LDF sent a memorandum to the Governor and heavily worded it. They mentioned that the deplorable state in the country as well as legal problems are a great moral breakdown.
After completing the meeting with the Governor, the opposition spoke to the reporters. They made a request to the Governor not to go ahead and deliver the customary policy address.
