Manny Pacquiao, the boxing legend has decided to leave the ring and go into the political fight that is going on now in Philippines. Already, he is now a Congress man who is eagerly and strongly vying for a senate seat with a lot of hopes to win in the election that is to be held in the course of next week.
Now, if it happens that you are travelling to Manila or around manila, you will find that election candidates are everywhere. Their images and posters are posted everywhere. Manny Pacquiao’s image is not excluded.
There is even a photo of him which was taken from his boxing days which covers a traditional cycle trishaw.
Paquiao, the former boxer now rely on his fame and success in ensuring adulation, but in one of the gyms where most of the Filipino doctors hang out, the ambition of their champion being a Politician was up for a debate.
“Whenever a Manny Pacquiao fight is on, the streets empty out and crime rate is zero because the entire nation drops everything to cheer him on.” Said an IT worker from Quezon City, Richard Monterey has he give his view on the political ambition of Manny Pacquiao.
According to Mary Ann, the receptionist at the Gym, she said that she believes in the sarangani politicians.
“I like him very much. He’s a champion and he can fight for the Philippines in any kind of ring.”
Eel, the boxing coach also said that Pacman is a world champion and he believes in him as a boxing champion henceforth.
“But I don’t think that translates to politics in the Philippines, it’s too complicated.” He added.
