Defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chennai entered into the IPL finals for the sixth time. Chennai defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by three wickets in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2015 at the JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi on Friday.
Ashish Nehra’s 3 for 28 and Hussey’s 56 off 46 balls, helped CSK win the match by margin.
Having put to Bat earlier, by the CSK, RCB struggled to score on the slower pitch of Ranchi. It has become difficult for them when, Nehra scalped the wickets of De villiers and Kohli in the 5th over of the match. Gayle was only the one promising with his 41 runs knock.
In Chasing the below par score of 140, Hussey showed his character of experienced play. He anchored his innings with great care and formed the platform for winning the game for CSK. Though RCB rided on luck, with consecutive wickets of MS Dhoni and Negi in the last overs, it was too late for them to fight back. Eventually, Ashwin scored the winning runs to take CSK to the final, the Cricbuzz reports.
Chennai will be playing against Mumbai at the Eden Gardens in the Grand Finale.
