Rahul Dravid, also called “The Wall” of Indian cricket will soon take over a critical role under the BCCI. As per the reports, the BCCI has requested Rahul Dravid to render his services in junior cricket to which he has responded positively.
Rahul has been offered by the BCCI, to act as a mentor to the under-19 and India-A teams to carve the players for an international career. Reports claim that Rahul had responded positively to the offer.
Rahul has earlier acted as the Team India’s mentor in the England series and is presently the mentor for the IPL franchisee Rajasthan Royals. Many youngsters including Ajinkya Rahane and Stuart Binny have carved themselves under him.
Speaking over it, Rajasthan Royals management said ” Rahul has full commitment to work for our IPL franchisee and as of now, he does not like leaving his family and going abroad to work. We should wait and see how he takes the offer”. As the new job offered to him is more likely to be in India, there are great possibilities of him to accept the invitation to train the youngsters, The Times of India reports.
when asked for the reason in not including Dravid in the advisory committee, BCCI secretary, Mr Thakur said that they don’t want one work to be done by too many. He also said that the BCCI is determined to use the services of the MR. Defendable.
