From the injuries memories to the era when we forget about them for a while, the following are some of the important things to be aware of regarding the daily fantasy football status.
Bad teams are bringing onboard entertaining football
Sometimes we sit down to watch bad football because we will enjoy seeing how they fail. A great illustration of this is the “butt fumble”. That is not surprising, considering we are a society that is addicted to watching YouTube videos of people crushing and falling.
But that is not what is at the centre-stage in the current fantasy football. The following six teams play against each other in what can only describe as an advanced Fantasy production. The following are our quick thoughts on the specific matches.
Atlanta Falcons against Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Will Matt Ryan begin to rebound as he has always done? The following is a quick compilation of his start at home against Buccaneers.
Year YDS TD FP
2015 397 2 27
2014 286 3 29
2013 254 2 22
Cleveland Browns against Philadelphia Eagles
A match between Jim Schwartz and Robert Griffin III is a key interest to many. The Eagle’s defense does not have the potential of firing on all cylinders throughout the year while Griffin is yet to get Josh Gordon. This could be a great source of fantasy this year.
Detroit Lions against Indianapolis
The very first thing to hit one’s mind here is the debate between Golden Tate and Marvin Jones. In case Jim Bob, the offensive coordinator, gets his way, the Lions will instigate plays that are sufficient to secure success for both.
While still on the same issue of bad teams, Minnesota participated in a busy trade over the weekend. With a few draft picks, they were able to land Sam Bradford from the Eagles. But most likely Bradford is going to take one week to go through the playbook.
With that in mind, Hill is left as the other alternative, having not started any given game from 2014 and had only 8 start since 2010.
NFL teams have the ability to rally around backup for two or more games and that is the exact expectation on Vikings. The Vikings defense depicts itself as being fiery and fired up. As they get ready to play against more formidable opponents, the possibility of Bradford being of any importance in Fantasy is a crap shoot on its own.
Haunted by last year’s injuries
One player that has dominated most injuries talk is Jamaal Charles, but he is not the only one with injuries.
Jordy Nelson was nowhere in the preseason and everything contributes to anxiety that he may not be back. Arian Foster appeared in the preseason but he is yet to look like the Arian Foster we know.
All these are made trickier with a newly implemented injuries reporting system. You should therefore expect many other players to be listed as “questionable” and thus mornings will be important once again.
